ASCENSION
The sun on the sidewalk shakes me alive.
It is so damn cold.
The only thing that is strong, is the pain.
I can’t move.
But my thoughts sprint.
My belly screams, “Home!’
Then my mind reminds me.
I’m already there.
Predatory investigations are the rewards of my truth.
They call me crazy.
Sticking to the good words.
I hurdle.
Cables in my back.

360 degrees
I have become a baby.
I have become a man who says, “maybe”.
I have become what I said I wouldn’t.
I have become what God said I shouldn’t.
I have become an actor of bad behavior.
I have become a man with a savior.
I have become empowered to change my ways.
I have become a man on my knees.
I have become a baby, 360 degrees.

TRILOGY
One
day I recognized.
The
quality of my jumps was poor.
I
feared no one would gather to see me move.
Effortless,
I can glide between the weeds.
Efficiency
has no definition.
The
energy and strength come from a different source.
Encounters
with chills and fatigue.
Expose
me.
My
true character cannot hide.
I
know now why so many fools seek true comfort.
The
truth is a killer.
I
slouch.
Over
and over.
Thoughts
and vibrations bounce toward inspiration.
Leaping
yet again.
For
love?
Or
hunger?
Nevertheless,
I’m grasping.
At
something.
Ideas
ignite as the tempo rises.
The
score of my mind is so brave.
Bounding,
reaching, and stretching.
Blowing
past their rigid potential.
Now
that’s a full range of motion.
Signs
given and time past.
Freshness
anew.
I
tell you, it’s all fresh now.
Love
to grow.
I
am no longer blind.
Or
deaf.
I
can finally hear the whisper of your pulse.
Drunk
with fulfillment.
I
have appreciation.
Everlasting.
