"The Collection" - (Index by Year)

L   U   N   C   H   B   O   X

Days are gone.

Now conflicts are dealt with guns.

Punks pull out a piece,

and everybody runs.

Dads are gone.

Kids learn nothing,

except cowardice and impotence.

And useless killing,

over colors,

and lines through neighborhoods.

The blood keeps spilling.

Long ago.

If I wanted you dead?

I would grab my Hong Kong Phooey lunchbox,

          and cave in your head.

- April 1992 -

           LEAVES

He will shine.

He will warm.

He will glare.

Just like the sun.

Some will bow.

Some will fall.

Some will burn.

Just like the leaves.

-------------------------------------------------------

Like

Like the tides,

your heartbeat drowns the loneliness.

Like the wind through the leaves,

your whispers delight my ears.

Like the flames’ blue core,

your eyes radiate warmth.

Like sweet nectar,

your touch fills me.

Like prints in the sand,

yours are next to mine.
